Green Gourmet’s new hot serve snack – the classic New York Deli Sandwich – is a marketplace first option for travel caterers.

No compromises have been taken on the quality of the ingredients used and the eating experience of the product. The project has been led by chefs, not bean counters!

Our simple, authentic sandwich is made only with kitchen cupboard ingredients. Just as with the sandwich made famous in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, we use flavoursome rye and caraway bread filled with a delicious combination of pastrami slices, Emmental cheese, gherkins and American mustard.

Both the top and bottom slices give a crispy bite rather than a soggy bottom that is common with pre-made “toasties". It has been pre-sliced too for an easier eat and to help reduce mess.

 As a key part of the product experience, the quality of packaging is really important to us. Ours is placed into a premium recyclable card watch-strap and base featuring distinctive, original artwork.

Based on compelling market insights, the product taps into numerous UK market trends for US inspired foods, smoked meats and beef filled sandwiches. New York Deli Sandwiches now feature on 10 High Street menus - up from 5 in 2014 - including global chains Subway, Starbucks and Pret a Manger.

The product makes life easier for cabin crew too.  They are supplied ready to heat and serve. Each is individually packed for minimal actions on board and efficient loading onto a standard airline oven tray.
